I'm not always sure how I arrive at the ideas for my shoots. I'd been wanting to do a horse shoot for a while. I grew up horse riding, and have always loved horses. I didn't just want to do the normal kind of beautiful girl on horse shoot as it's been tried and tested so many times.
I've always been drawn to the American photographer, Gordon Parks' work. I wanted to bring a feeling of that innocence and simplicity to the subjects and shoot.
Working with Lori was great as she definitely brought an old school vibe to the shoot, and this is exactly what I wanted.
We didn't want anything too done, too polished or too perfect. We chose guys who added to this feeling.
All in all, it was fantastic collaborating with Lori. She has a perfect work ethic which also makes a huge difference on these kinds of shoots. Lori is always enthusiastic and hard working and happy to go the extra mile.
Thank you Lori!!

For me, a storyboard or mood board is like being a kid in a candy store. It offers a glimpse into the creator’s mind, and I get to come along for the ride.
Styling True Gentlemen and being part of Alexa’s vision was a true privilege. I drew deep inspiration from her mood board. We spoke about “old-school” menswear and a time gone by—an era I wanted to honour through timeless styling: layered textures, bare skin, and quiet strength.
I was transported back to my childhood, watching my grandfather prepare for a day out. He always wore a vest under his shirt, suspenders with his trousers—and the scent of his cupboard, the hats he wore, those memories stayed with me. There were many layers to him, both literal and emotional: distinguished, polished, and refined. His strength wasn’t loud—it was calm, steady, and deeply felt without needing to be seen.
To reflect that, I styled using a blend of thrifted vintage pieces and contemporary finds, where texture became the hero. The palette stayed monochrome, with touches of vintage brown, crisp whites, and of course, the iconic hat. It was a modern take that still honoured the history, paired beautifully with the raw power of a horse and the quiet confidence of a true gentleman.
When I source for a story, I’m always looking for that one special element—that final detail that finishes the sentence to the naked eye.
I love working as a team. I believe every creative in the room should have a voice. Everyone deserves to play. The team on this project were all beautiful humans whose creativity, energy, and passion made the story come alive. It’s never about egos—it’s about the love of the craft.
I’m always honoured to be part of any creative journey. It’s a privilege I never take for granted.
