Victoria Kelly

Victoria Kelly is a photographer and writer based in Stroud, UK. After graduating from Edinburgh University with a master’s in English literature, Victoria was a financial journalist in London for six years before moving to Zambia in 2006. In Zambia, she worked as an editor, initially on an independent newspaper and then as editor of a national magazine which covered politics, finance and social issues, among other things. She also undertook investigative research assignments in Zambia and elsewhere in the region, including Malawi, for different organisations. Photography has always been a big part of Victoria’s work. She has taken photographs for various projects and organisations in Zambia and has done photojournalism pieces for Reuters and the BBC. She is particularly interested in social documentary photography and portraiture, which she believes is a powerful story-telling tool. Victoria moved back to the UK in 2024 after eighteen years in Zambia and now hopes to use her photography to raises awareness around social issues, such as poverty and addiction.
